Maternity and Baby Fair returns to York this April
Yorkshire’s biggest maternity and baby fair, the Bump & Baby Expo, is back at York Racecourse on Sunday 7th April. The expo is designed to help new and expecting parents plan for their baby.
So, what’s on?
You will be able to treat yourself to a mini-treatment with Hands That Heal and Neal’s Yard in the Wellbeing Area; meet celeb blogger Honest Mum and buy a signed copy of her bestselling book MUMBOSS; enjoy free demonstrations and seminars throughout the day at our Speaker Area; grab a funky selfie with Boothomatic; play and learn with your little ones in the Tiny Talk Activity Tent – or just shop till you drop (hopefully not literally!) all in a fantastic pram-friendly ground-floor venue.
Jackie commented, “As a mum and newborn photographer, I felt that Yorkshire was crying out for an upscale, high-end event to support new and expectant parents and allow related businesses to network effectively, hence the Bump & Baby Expo was born.
Three years later, I am delighted to have teamed up with Kate from Avocado Events to make the Bump & Baby Expo even bigger and better than ever. We have more exhibitors, parent bloggers, meet and greets, toddler activity area and so much more. It is going to be a great event!”
The Bump & Baby Expo is also helping to raise money for Action Medical Research for Children, donating £1 from every ticket sold.
Some of their many successes include:
- Discovering the importance of taking folic acid before and during pregnancy to prevent spina bifida
- Developing the use of ultrasound scanning in pregnancy
- Protecting children from polio since 1962
- Testing the early rubella vaccine
- Helping protect children from meningitis since 1992
Anyone who has been pregnant, or indeed born, in the UK since the 1980s has already benefited from their research!
