Back on Track
The Kirklees Light Railway is open and running at weekends and daily during school holidays.
The popular family visitor attraction has implemented an array of COVID-secure measures including reduced capacities, social distancing, hand sanitiser stations and one-way systems. Cleaning regimes have been ramped up and visitors over the age of 11 must wear face masks/coverings when journeying on the trains and inside the station buildings unless exempt.
Visitor feedback from the first months of reopening has been outstanding as can be seen from reviews on TripAdvisor and the railway’s Facebook page.
Like many visitor attractions, it is now necessary to pre-book tickets online in advance at www.kirkleeslightrailway.com so that staff can manage the numbers of people on board the trains, on the stations and in the playgrounds.
October will also see the railway’s first ever Wizard Express event alongside the ever-popular Halloween Ghost Trains. Advance booking is absolutely essential to avoid disappointment.
